Where are the products manufactured?
The complete SORHEA range of products is designed, assembled and tested in France. Our company has been awarded ISO 9001 certifications, CE, Intrusion Certification (INCERT) ... |
Who are your main customers?
SORHEA is dealing with security professionals. Our customers are installers, systems integrators and wholesalers. We also prescribe perimeter security solutions to government bodies, and specifiers. |
Do you have branches in other countries?
We set SORHEA GmbH in Germany up. Since January 2008, the company is in charge of the German market. |
Moreover we have a network of Competence Centers and Wholesalers that can be contacted, in more than 30 countries. |
Are your products adaptable?
Yes they are. Our wide range of products allows us to adapt to each project's specific requirements. We build tailor-made solutions to match specific outdoor security requirements. |
What is the maximum height of a column?
Our range of products starts at 185mm for the UNIRIS (twin beam product) and goes up to 5m towers for the MAXIRIS 2000. |
What is the maximum range between two columns?
For an 'all-weather' (sun, wind, fog, rain... ) detection performance, the maximum outdoor range is 100m between two columns. Some products in our range can cover 200 meters, however they only offer a certain level of security. |
Can your products be used under all weather?
The complete SORHEA range of products has been designed and engineered for an outdoor use. The standard products can undergo temperatures variations from '20°C to +55°C. Specific products are available for very harsh weather (desert or freezing areas). |

What is the principle of the Fresnel Lens?
This cell is used on all our products. The light focuses on a single point in receiver cell. It provides a greater tolerance to misalignements and a better infrared beam sensitivity. The fresnel lens facilitates the alignment procedures and ensures a better analysis of what is going through the protected zones. |
What are D.I.S cells and what are their main advantages?
Our R&D engineers have invented transceiver cells (Patent n°06 02310). This ensures a better communication between cells, facilitates the alignment as well as the maintenance. Since all cells are identical, all modules are identical. Alarm information are available on each column and wiring can be simplified or redundant. |
How to decrease false alarms?
Most false alarms stem from alignment problems but also from bad installation (maximum 10° angle) and the environment (vegetation, animals...). Bad alignment accounts for 90% of false alarms. |
What is the alignment procedure?
What we recommend is to review the alignment procedure : Pre-align the cells using the optical viewfinder. Perform the Tx side alignment first since the alignment feedback is on the RX side. Analyse the alignment feedback. Most of our products (Maxiris 2000, Coliris II, Miniris II) and all our future releases are equipped with integrated alignment interface (audio and visual helper). |
Why selectable channels?
The selectable channels are used to differenciate the signal that is sent from one barrier to the other. Each receiver cell knows what coded signal to expect and when, and doesn't take into account signals that might be sent from any other TX cell. |
How is the detection performed?
It depends on the product. An intrusion will be detected when a certain number of beams are cut at a certain speed. Alarms can be triggered on the cut of 1 beam, 2 or 3 adjacent beams simultaneously. |
Can we network the informations received by the MAXIRIS 2000 columns?
Yes, it is called the MAXIBUS. The receiver columns are wired to the network. Segmented alarm information are delivered through a network cable to the control panel supply. |
What kind of energy can you use?
Most of our products are 12V powered. Sometimes, we can offer a 230V/110V power according to each country/site's specs. We also have a range of wireless, cable free, or solar powered products. |
How do you evaluate the price?
It depends on the type (MAXIRIS 2000, COLIRIS II...) and the number of columns, the height, the number of cells inside the columns, if it is single or double direction and of the accesories needed. |
Please rely on our technico-commercial staff for free project estimates. Our staff is here to guide you in your choice of products. |
In which applications do infrared barriers are used?
Infrared barriers have outdoor application (and also indoor) from the perimeter to facade, window and roof protection. They are used for sensitive sites, industries, airports, vehicle parking areas, private properties and temporary protection of sites. |
Can CCTV be integrated to the columns?
Of course, our perimeter security solutions deliver dry contacts. You can also fix them on the poles of all other columns. When the detection is made, the camera triggers. The wiring is made to integrate the CCTV's to the network. |
What are the main features of the KAPIRIS?
The KAPIRIS is a long range outdoor motion sensor. It integrates a dual-technology system : a microwave doppler antenna and a passive infrared sensor. It has been designed to pilot CCTV cameras and to be integrated to a network. |
