Perimeter Protection is a market segment representing about 6% of the Anti-Intrusion Security Industry which itself represents about 25% of the market for security.
Peripheral protection or perimeter protection:
According to standardized terminology, exterior protection via infrared barriers is termed :
Imperceptible and invisible in contrast to fence protection systems.
Peripheral when infrared barriers are installed at a distance around the building to protect.
Perimeter when infrared barriers are installed on the facade of the building to protect.
Interior protection and exterior protection:
Two types of infrared barriers can be distinguished by their use: interior or exterior. We are going to focus especially on infrared barriers used outdoors. These differ from the interior type in the following aspects :
better weatherproofing
integrated thermostat-controlled heating
analysis of slow dimming (see fog curve p.8)
“ruggedised” and tropicalized electronics
performance of materials that make up the barriers in exterior conditions (cold-heat-humidity-UV exposure)
